My daughter’s technical drawings are neater than any FIA bulletin, but the precision is the same. I found myself explaining the porpoising issue to a customer today, using the wobble in my old table fan as the example. They bought a new switch, but looked more convinced about the Mercedes concept.

The old table fan example is a lovely one — we often use the familiar to explain the intricate. My own daughter’s design sketches have that same exactness, which fills me with a bit of the same awe.
