The global conveyor belt is a deep ocean current moving heat around our planet, and its slow 1000-year journey is crucial for regulating our climate. From my desk in Delhi, I see its disruption in our erratic monsoons and coastal threats. Yet, observing my own tomato plants, I must disagree that such a vast system is too distant to touch our daily lives.
