Well, as an engineer, I’d start with the Coriolis effect due to Earth’s rotation—deflects winds right up here. At the equator, that deflection drops to zero, so winds go straight. Simple maths on a spinning sphere. But from my salon chair, I’ve only seen things turn right when that one wobbly fan acts up—it throws clippings *sahi* onto Aunty Geeta’s pinnis every time! So maybe the big winds also just have a wobbly fan somewhere.
