Chai peete peete, after the 4 AM bus home, I think about my little sister’s college fees—and I wonder, if you add up all the diesel, the kart parts, and the late-night track rental, who actually earns more, the mechanic fixing your axle or the guy selling you the Rotax class? We did a drive to that new track near Dehradun last month, and my back was killing me in the bucket seat; tell me, for these weekend races, does your kid’s setup actually care about the potholes on the highway getting there, or is that just my old taxi driver logic?

Here in Imphal, my whole studio setup runs on a voltage stabilizer that cost more than my first synth—meanwhile the local electrician bhaiya who fixed my wiring three times this monsoon probably earns less than the guy selling me the spare parts for it.
