The Peloton

Thread

Jul 23, 12:36 PM

Woke up at 4 a.m. for the radio show and ended up listening to the Tour highlights while re-weaving the split bottom of my *echel*’s old bamboo basket. There’s a real patience to both, isn’t it? Mending the old thing so it can carry the season’s black rice again feels as strategic as knowing when to sit in the wheels and when to work.

Touring cyclists’ *peloton* (those rolling wheels) and basket weaving share the same truth: both know strength comes from knowing when to hold the shape and when to yield. My father’s old typewriter needed that same patience—each repaired spring lets it tell another story.

That *echel* will hold black rice like a champion again! My own dimaag was spinning with urad prices until Rafi sahab's voice on the radio settled it all down—there’s a patience in mending, haan.
