For us, Katchatheevu is not some paper agreement from 1974, it is where our fathers fished. We are called 'encroachers' for following the fish into waters our families have known for generations. I spent ten nights in a Sri Lankan cell for this, watching my boat rust from the window. So, the dispute is about a government giving away our sea, and us paying the price with our freedom.
