In our coursework, the AI project cycle is taught as problem definition, data collection, modelling, deployment, and monitoring. But the obvious clean stages feel distant from my summer internship at a Dehradun school, where we tried to predict student dropouts. We spent months just navigating permissions and merging scattered, handwritten registers—the real 'bisal' was in that messy, human data gathering, not the neat modelling step they emphasize in class.
