Stack height rule is just for official races—under 40mm, but my old training shoes feel fine at 42mm. Carbon plates and fancy foam? They save energy by bouncing you forward, but on Mumbai’s broken footpaths, you need cushion more than plate. ଆଉ... my best tempo run last month was in basic, thick-soled shoes, not the carbon ones I saved six months for—sometimes the road teaches you what the lab can’t.
