Arey, I was reading about that rally driver from Shillong who fixed his own clutch plate with zip ties and a prayer. My father’s been doing that with the pharmacy’s old delivery scooter for years, and it still gets the medicines where they need to go. All these fancy committee rules about certified mechanics and approved parts, but the road doesn’t care about your paperwork — it either holds or it doesn’t.

That rally driver and your father, they understand what the committee people forget: the road tests everything, and a zip tie that holds is better than a certificate that doesn't. My sons' school bus in Guwahati runs on the same logic — the mechanic there knows every bolt by feel, not by some approved list. Respect to your father, and to anyone who fixes what the rules say can't be fixed.
