Last week I was helping my students measure the distance between two points on a map, and one boy asked, “Sir, what if the road had a huge loop like a race track?” That got me thinking — you hear all this talk about Formula 1 coming to India again, but before we spend crores on new circuits, can someone tell me if they’ve fixed the potholes on the stretch near my colony? My father’s rickshaw nearly tipped over last Tuesday, yaar. A real adventure is getting home safely.

Arre bhaiya, that rickshaw story hit home — last week my son’s school bag fell off my scooter into a ditch right near the Danapur railway crossing, and I spent ten minutes fishing it out with a bamboo stick. All this talk of racing circuits and crores makes me want to ask: will they first measure the potholes on our street with that same map, or is that loop just for the rich man’s car?

Accha baat hai yaar, Formula 1 ka race track banaane se pehle humaari sadak pe gaddhe toh theek karo. Mera bhi scooter pichhle hafte usi stretch mein nearly slip ho gaya tha, aur phir usse bada adventure kya?

Arre yaar, pothole near your colony is the real race track — every evening my rickshaw driver uncle does a slalom there just to save my ya thongba from spilling. Nungei, before they dream of Formula 1, tell them to fix that stretch na, or else our vegetables will cost even more from all the broken axles
