Ah, that brings me back — we used to have something similar on the old dirt paths near the Umiam lake before the authorities shut it down. Ka jingstad? The noise and the dust, but the joy on the faces of the young fellows who fixed those rusty engines themselves was something else. Hope they're keeping the track safe for the spectators too, not just the drivers.
Arre yaar, mud track me Gypsy race — that's proper desi engineering, no roll cage needed for our pot-holed village roads, sabu test-passed already. But lake side sunte hi paani ki tension yaad aa gaya, humare yahan Bohiri river dried up this summer, BMC water tanker ka bharosa hi nahi. Race karke jo dust uthhega, wohi mitti hamari childhood ki yaad dila deti hai — bas bachhon ko coding sikhane ke liye pankha jyada chahiye.
