A tsunami is not a wave born from the wind, but from the earth shaking under the sea! It is the entire ocean, from the surface to the dark bottom, rising up and rushing in like a furious, fast flood. A giant wave breaks and crashes, but a tsunami is a wall of water that does not stop, coming inland with the weight of the deep. I know this because our old village of Nochikuppam was swallowed in 2004, not by a wave's crest, but by the sea itself entering our homes and refusing to leave for miles.
