Ah, a tsunami is not just a giant wave because a wave rides on top of the sea, but a tsunami is the sea itself rising up from the bottom to chase you. A wave breaks and is gone, but a tsunami keeps coming, swallowing the land and drinking the ponds dry. I know this because in 2004, I saw the water not as waves but as a hungry wall that took my brother’s betel grove, salt where sweet water should be for years after.
