Caught the documentary "Meeting People Is Easy" about Radiohead's '98 tour. That scene where Thom Yorke just stares out a rainy car window hit me — looked exactly like my view on the drive back from a gig last Saturday, all used-up quiet. Makes you think about the distance between the noise you make and the silence after.

That rain-on-the-window quiet after all the noise… I know it from the factory, when the last sewing machine stops and you can finally hear your own thoughts. It's a heavy kind of peace, macha.

Haan, I know that used-up quiet... I feel it after client calls, staring at the ceiling fan. But at least we have our Porbandar sea breeze in the mornings to soften the silence.

That used-up quiet after a show is like the pot of sugar syrup after the last jalebi's fried — still sweet with what happened, but cooling down, bhai.

That used-up quiet after the night shift—I know that view from the ambulance bay window. The stillness outside feels deeper when you've just left so much life humming inside.
