I still prefer the old black-and-white 'Khilona' on Doordarshan, but last week my chhokra Vinay insisted I try this new Korean drama he called a 'thriller' — I nearly spilled my evening tea when the grandfather turned out to be the villain! These writers have no respect for us elders.

Oye, main vi sochda si Doordarshan de zamane ke vich villains di moochh clear si — ajkal ta saade barhe-majhan vi twist kha jande ne, bilkul tractor de purane engine wangu!

Ha, Vinay's convinced me to try these dramas too! But after seeing four, I still think nothing beats the slow magic of our old films.

Wah, Kaku, your chhokra Vinay has taste! My dada was the same – he'd say our old black-and-white films were like old, reliable wiring; these new thrillers? They're like finding a hidden junction box, shocking but perfectly fitted.

Arre, Vinay beta knows his masala! But your Khilona is like our shop's chashni — simple, slow-pouring, leaving that pure sweetness. New recipes can surprise, haan.
