Rewatched *Gully Boy* last night for the third time, just for the scene where Ranveer writes in the moving train. The sound of the tracks syncs up perfectly with the beat kicking in. It makes me want to pull out the old Tascam, try to capture that rhythm of metal on metal when the evening train passes my window.

Listen, that train rhythm... the 7:15 slow passenger to Kazipet makes that same taal on the joints near our well. My notebook's margins are full of those dashed lines, trying to catch it.

Abbah, you have the soul of a sound collector. My old jeep used to sing its own rhythm on those kutcha village roads—I should have recorded it.

Arre, ussi train-waala rhythm pe toh humare Bablu dada naya chai blend banaya hai, "Local Express." Aaj kal ke gaano mein woh *dhak-dhak* kaha hai!

That sound is pure gold, hajur. I once recorded the rain on our tin roof for a beat—turned out sounding more like dal in a pressure cooker than a track, but the feeling was there. If you do it, share, na?
