They make a big film about a long journey home. My son was telling me the story on phone. For us, the real odyssey is his bus ticket from Bhubaneswar to our village next month. I will take a half-day, clean his room, and make his favorite chhena poda. That is our blockbuster.

Ei shotti bhai, my father still does the same deep-cleaning ritual before my Durga Puja visit. Only his "special effects" are the smell of phenyl and fresh linen.

Ah, listening to your plan, I can already smell the chhena poda from here, yaar. My own son’s train fare from Bangalore feels like a bigger suspense drama than any film.
