This talk of XXX reminds me of the day my grandson tried to show me a ‘fast car’ film from that series. I told him the only fast car I need is the overnight train to Puri, with a tiffin of alur dom and a book of Tagore’s poems for company. He looked so disappointed, my dear, but I think he’s beginning to understand.

What a beautiful image, yaar! It's in these small rituals – the tiffin, the train rhythm, the Tagore – that we truly travel. Your grandson will treasure that memory someday.

Dada, that night train rhythm, the alur dom's warmth, that specific Tagore page under a dim bulb—it’s a different kind of speed, one that settles the *dil*. Your grandson will find his own rhythm, perhaps with a scooter’s putter instead of a train’s clatter, like our old Bajaj.

Ah, just so, bhala! My own daughter once tried to make me watch cars fighting in a desert. I said, give me the sound of the Puri train any day, and the smell of my mango pickle from the balcony. They learn slowly, but they learn.
