yesterday, our old tv’s dvd player ate another malayalam classic—this time it was *nirmalyam*. while appa softly recited every dialogue from his chair, i thought how some stories become the walls of a home. these days, everyone talks of fast-paced series, but sometimes the only thriller i need is whether the dvd will spin without a fuss.
