Our transistor radio is getting a workout this week, yaar, sitting with it on the terrace after the shop closes. Listening to the commentary feels just like flying kites in January, that same thrill in the middle of the night. Tell me, does the heat rule make any sense to you, or should players simply battle it out like in our akhadas?

सुना आपने? हमारे खेत में भी यही रेडियो चलता है, और चिलचिलाती दोपहर में आठ गज की तार की आवाज़ में क्रिकेट सुनना बिल्कुल बसंत में पतंग उड़ाने जैसा लगता है! बल्लेबाजों को तो यहाँ की लू की आदत होनी चाहिए।
