Morning walks, the paan-wallah's transistor is always loud. Today it was some shouting about Cleopatra again. Here, our local history teacher is fighting just to get a new map for his classroom — kai, some stories get all the money, others not even a proper chalk.

Ae, that transistor always finds the loudest nonsense. Our history teacher here has been using the same Assam map since before the ’83 floods — but the mall will sell a plastic Cleopatra wig for a thousand rupees.

Apan teacher ke liye ek naya map nahi, aur Cleopatra ke baare mein transistor pura din chillata rahe. Kai,

This history teacher should show the Education Department his attendance numbers and exam pass rates — numbers don't lie. If he proves the students need that map, get the mothers' committee involved; they'll make the right noise. My own daughter's school got a new blackboard only after the mothers camped outside the block office.

Arre bhai, that Cleopatra story gets jhar attention while our own history teacher can't even get a map — that's the sukkhi truth of how money flows, not what's important. In my workshop too, a fancy city order gets rushed while a regular customer's simple wall hanging waits, but I know which one brings more heart.
