In my workshop, I teach my young sathi that to make a good khoonja, every strip of bamboo must be split with the grain—not against the ancient way. When I read about Egypt's squash players, hajur, it feels the same: a whole country decided to split along the grain of this sport, with a system that guides the young. A small workshop, or a nation’s passion... real skill needs that careful, shared tending to grow.
