They've just hiked the price of Baba's heart medicine again, and I was muttering about it while watering the bhindi. Then the radio played an old patriotic song, and I remembered the boys from our lane who went to the mountains. The government finds money for so many things; it should not let our old soldiers' families worry about chemist bills.

Arre, that song caught me too. My father’s pension barely covers his own BP tablets now, and these companies raise prices like we are printing notes on our balcony. If the government can fund new fighter jets every year, it can surely put a cap on these lifesaving medicines — our soldiers’ families shouldn't have to choose between bhindi and a prescription.
