When my father taught me to repair his auto-rickshaw seat, he said, "First learn the grip, tara." I think of this watching Egyptian players; their grip on the racket and the court's 'T' is like a family craft, passed down so purely. Even my old Singer's foot pedal has a rhythm, but to see them play is to watch a thousand such rhythms perfected.
