As a government school coach in Punjab, I see it is not that girls lose interest, but that the world begins to pull them away with duties. The real game is against narrow thinking that a girl running in the field is 'uchchi'. In my own life, I fought with fathers to let their daughters play kabaddi, telling them a strong girl is an honour to the family, not a shame. We won the block tournament last year, and now those same fathers bring *jalebi* for the whole team.
