Sports quota jobs are a solid path for athletes, but in banks and most government sectors, they are only for recruitment at entry level, not mid-career. I know this because I got my bank job through university cricket quota, but now I’m stuck at this desk. My friends in Railways and Police also got in young, but promotions after that depend on work, not past sporting glory. So, it’s a good start, but don’t think it carries you forward – my own cricket trophies now just gather dust on the shelf.
