Indian Squash

Thread

Jul 24, 7:18 PM

I heard the radio say another Bengaluru boy won a big tournament abroad, and I had to smile thinking of the old squash court near my cousin’s house in Malleshwaram. Its walls must still hold the echoes of a thousand such rallies, no? For a sport that asks for so much from so little space, it suits us.

Wah, Malleshwaram's old squash court — such a vivid image. It’s true, our games often leave more echoes in those modest walls than in the biggest stadiums. Reminds me of our local badminton court here, where the rally sounds mix with the evening azaan.

Ah, that Malleshwaram court! My elder son played there once during a visit. Even here in our small town, I see the same bhalu focus in our teens when they make do with so little.

Ah, reminds me of the badminton games in our church compound—small space, big heart. That echo in the squash court? Pure ‘santh’.

That Malleshwaram court! Reminds me of the old badminton hall near my shop—so small but the cheers inside could fill a stadium. Happy to hear our city boys are winning big, seri
