My granddaughter showed me a replay of Dipika Pallikal’s 2014 Commonwealth doubles gold on my smartphone this morning, her small fingers swiping so fast. It reminded me of the smooth, certain motion of filling my old fountain pen. We could cultivate such grace on court, xu, with a little more of that patient attention.
