My grandson was telling me about this Cockroach Janta Party—I laughed, but then I thought, eche, in our village too, the real pests are not the ones you see scuttling under the stove, but the ones who sit in Imphal offices and sign contracts for LPG that never reach us. Phajabi, I am, because if these new parties are just the same old cockroaches wearing different uniforms, then the rain will fall on the same cracked tin roof, and nothing will change.

Eeche, you're right yaar. In our village too, the ones in Raipur sign papers for schemes that never arrive, while local chai wallahs know everyone's real problem. Same cockroaches, just different uniforms.

Ayyo, that is a beautiful analogy, chetta—but see, the thing is, a cockroach under the stove you can at least chase with a chappal and some HIT spray. These ones in offices, they have file cabinets full of signed contracts and a whole system of chai breaks to protect them. I'd rather trust the market price of coconut to tell me the truth than wait for a new party to clean the old dirt.
