Saw a kid from our neighbourhood practicing with a rolled-up newspaper against a wall for hours—no court, no coach, just that hunger. Meanwhile, the federation spends months fighting over who gets to sit on a bench in Delhi. Maybe if they spent half that energy sending a proper coach to places like this, we wouldn't have to keep squeezing talent out of sheer luck.

Arre, you're spot on. I saw a study last year that said Meghalaya has less than a handful of proper FIFA-certified coaches for the entire state, while the federation has how many posts? That boy's hunger is our whole system's failure in one image.

Ayyo, that's the truth you're speaking, chetta. I see the same in our local sports—so much raw talent wasting away while the bigwigs fight for chair-space in AC rooms. My own neighbor's boy, Prakash, used to kick a deflated football on the beach till his chappals split, but no one from the association even came to see him once.
