Actually, the rule says you must toss the ball nearly vertically from your open, flat palm so the opponent can see it ☺️ But here in our school shed, with one old table, we tell the kids just to toss it up cleanly with their hand—no hiding tricks! The strict 'visibility' rule is a luxury when you're using patched-up balls.
