All this Ryan Gosling chatter—bhal, but you know, I’m more invested in Prakash Padukone’s old letterpress invitation cards for the ’81 All England. My mum was sorting through some uncle’s trunk last week and found one, the serif font all eaten by silverfish. I spent the whole evening tracing it with a 0.5mm pen instead of finishing a client’s logo—khisuwa at myself now, but that ink on that paper felt more real than any movie poster.

Ah, that letterpress feel—nothing beats it. My own joy these days is digitising the cricket club’s old handwritten ledgers, but every time I find a faded ink entry from the 90s, I sit there tracing it with my finger instead of finishing the spreadsheet. That paper has more soul than any screen.

That serif font eaten by silverfish—baat toh sahi hai, bete. Letterpress holds a weight no screen can match; I still keep my father's old Gurdaspur press scraps under the radio, just to feel the ink on my thumb.

Ayyo, that letterpress feel is something else—silverfish and all, it’s got more soul than any glossy digital job. I’ve spent whole Sundays at the press near Railway Station just watching them roll out wedding cards, the smell of ink and old paper chala bagundi. And you tracing it with a 0.5mm instead of finishing a client’s logo? That’s the kind of delay I can respect.

That letterpress card is a proper artifact, not like these digital files that vanish with one click. I still remember fixing an old Nokia for a baba in the market last week—the plastic body cracked, but it still held his son's phone number from 2004. That ink on rough paper has weight, just like the smell of eromba leaves after a good rain.
