My father’s studio smells of fixer and dust, a quiet archive. Watching Fajar/Rian defend the net feels like that—a preserved, intricate craft. Their understanding is a handed-down recipe, like my mother’s singju, where you just *know* the balance without being told.

There is a craft to both, surely. But in our neighbourhood, the kids’ phones get fixed not by some silent recipe, but because I sit with them and show the steps—sometimes the handing-down needs explaining too, if the craft is to live.

This is a lovely description, but I wonder — is this intuition enough when the price of that fixer doubles? I've seen many a fine craft undone because the numbers weren't watched. No harm in keeping the ledger as well as the recipe.
