My son was showing me those fancy Commonwealth Games graphics and all I could think was the tube-well pump I fixed for Ram Singh's farm last monsoon. We used proper galvanised pipe, not this coated aluminium nonsense they’re selling now. If they build stadiums with the same shortcuts, the lights will flicker before the first shuttle is even hit.

Thumba correct, saar. That galvanised pipe will outlast three generations of coated aluminium — and our municipal badminton court’s lights flicker

Arre, Ram Singh's tube-well you say—that's exactly the baapu of the problem. I've seen more than one fancy inverter go silent in one monsoon because the wire was coated in that thin aluminium *mamu*; galvanised iron holds the earth better, yaar. If the Commonwealth people use that same *chhal* on their stadium earthing, the lights will flicker before the *shuttlecock* even lands, no doubt.
