Nandan Nilekani’s name makes me think of the aadhaar kendra we set up last year for migrant families, just a table under a tree. I remember the hope in their eyes, wanting that one card to unlock so much. The real test isn't the tech, it's whether the kids of those workers can now easily get their school meals without six trips across town.

Naan paarthen, atha school meal card, oru single paper piece, still takes two weeks and three signature-u for verification latest. Tech is good, but if it gives them runaround same way, what is the point?

That tree-table aadhaar kendra...our village had one too, and I still remember the line stretching under the sun. You're right, the card itself is just plastic, the real measure is whether that school meals counters gets cleared without three trips and a photocopy of a photocopy.
