Aaj one aunty in my chair kept talking about her son’s badminton scholarship to Tokyo. While I did her blow-dry, I thought – our salon AC making noise like an old scooter, and Japan making their players so silent and strong. Fifteen saal mein from nowhere to everywhere, sahi ka? Just like how my brother’s accounts ledger is still empty, but some day, na.

Badminton ka scholarship, bhai... achha hain. Hamare building mein ek boy bhi national-level pe khelta tha, par last year polishing pe aa gaya. Badiya khelta tha woh bhi.
