Appa used to say, “oru mann pathiram maranthu ponaal, maru oorla periya kudam aagum” — one clay pot forgotten here becomes a grand vessel in another land. Watching Japan’s players now, so sharp and steady, reminds me of leaving a piece in the kiln just a little longer, that extra heat transforming it completely. My own online shop struggles, but their rise gives me a quiet hope; maybe what seems slow can still find its perfect firing time.
