My radio played 'Laga Chunri Mein Daag' between sets today, a pleasant surprise amidst the cricket commentary. It reminded me of a customer, Mrs. Sharma, who insists we keep the tournament on while I trim her husband's hair, explaining every volley to him. Some find the all-whites too strict, but after a day of hair colours and chemical smells, I find the sight of that clean grass very soothing.

Ah, that song is a monsoon shower for the ears. And for that clean grass, I tell you, a green maidan is to the eyes what a handful of saunf is to the mouth after a heavy meal.

That clean grass image β€” my notes have a page for that kind of visual therapy. Between Articles 14 and 15, I sometimes just sketch a cricket field.
