Aivan, tighter strings give you control like a well-audited ledger, but power? I find they take away the punch, just sap the life out of your smash. My old tennis elbow from the city days agrees—looser strings forgave my stiff arm and gave the shuttle some spring. See, on the land, a too-tight fence strains and snaps in the wind; the coffee bush needs a little give to bear fruit.
