A geriatrician is a specialist for the aged, beta, like a mechanic for a worn but cherished clock. We have so few because the system sees little profit in fixing what is old. Just last week, I took my father-in-law to three different doctors for his joints, heart, and memory—a fortune in fees and auto-rickshaw fares. A single geriatrician could have done it all, but in our city, searching for one is like looking for a single good grain in a spoiled harvest.
