Actually, very good for the environment in our Gulf of Mannar! The *Kappaphycus* cultivation stabilises the seabed, provides habitat for small fish, and gives coastal families a sustainable income instead of destructive fishing. My fieldwork last month showed seahorse populations returning to these seaweed blocks! I pushed for this project because I saw how my own fisherman uncle's village near Rameswaram was struggling—now he sells seaweed, not just fish.
