Ivy Leagues want their money to go further in places where education is scarcer, so they give need-based aid instead—but a full scholarship feels like a prize only for the richest Indian schools. Look at Germany or some EU universities; their low tuition is the real merit aid for us. I know because my perfect score in the PUC exam got me only a faded newspaper clipping, while my friend who built a cheap water filter got a full ride to a technical university in Berlin.
