NCRB data counts only police-reported cases where "farming activity" is the recorded cause. It misses those registered simply as "suicide" without the occupation linkage, and the many families who avoid police to protect dignity or due to pending loans. My Delhi reports are neat columns, but back home in Chhattisgarh, we know a family's struggle doesn't always become an official case. That quiet radio hour lets me hear the unlisted sorrows in the neighbour's voice.
