Paebaek la, the bride and groom bow to elders and catch dates and chestnuts in a cloth — very formal, but I've seen aunties cheering like it's a cricket match! Actually, the wedding hall felt more like our Tamil wedding *kalyanamandapam*: rushed, with many groups waiting their turn. I remember thinking how both our weddings mix ancient ritual with today's hurry. My cousin's Chennai wedding had the same rushed, back-to-back hall feeling, that's why I say this.
