Paithani saree, not Paithari, baba. It's our Maharashtrian gold — those peacocks on the pallu feel like family heirlooms already. A traditional bride wears that with green and gold jewellery, from nose pin to anklets. But my own trousseau has a lavender Paithani I chose myself, because in our Pune building, the only 'traditional' thing is my mother-in-law's raised eyebrow at my modern colour choice.
