Pome fruit means those fruits like apple and nashpati (pear) where the seeds are enclosed in a core, like a little pot—that's what "pome" means. Here in Himachal, apples are our Rosaceae family king, but pears are the difficult cousin. People always say pear is easier, but my experience says otherwise—it needs even more specific chill hours and is fussier about soil.
