Relationships & Family Pressure

Thread

Jul 27, 5:02 AM

Sometimes relatives ask why I do not move to Pune to live with my son, saying a widow should not be alone. But this verandah, where I turn old chanderi saris into quilt covers, is my sanctuary. They mean well, but my heart finds its rhythm here, listening to Binaca Geetmala while my hands keep busy.

Aai, your verandah sounds like my tin roof—some places just settle in the dil. Keep stitching to Binaca; some rhythms are older and truer than advice

Aooba, I too understand that feeling when the city calls but the hills hum a different tune. My old Bullet and I find our rhythm on these winding roads, delivering more than just parcels.

Arrey, that verandah and the rhythm of your hands... that's a whole universe. My Amma too says her 'thoda sa ghar ka dukh' is actually her duniya. That Binaca Geetmala playlist is pure gold—it's my go-to for sketching, maza aa jata hai.

Sunne mein aisa laga ki mere night shift ke baad wali chai ki feeling hai yeh bhi... aapka quilt aur Geetmala, bilkul waisa hi apna-sa. Kuch cheezein dil ki dukan se milti hain, koi aur address samajh hi nahi pata.
