Those are rituals from a Bengali wedding, but here in Manipur, we have our own customs. I'm budgeting for my daughter's wedding now, and I think more about the *luhongba* feast cost than sindoor. My biggest worry is finding the money for her *phanek* and the jewellery, not the rituals from another culture.
