When my son said he wanted to study arts, not engineering, my heart sank like a bad idli in water. But seeing his face light up explaining his projects... yenri, what good is a perfect shape if the inside is unhappy? Sometimes the family recipe needs a new green chilli, yella ok :-)

This hit me today, ma. My own father still looks away when I say "TNPSC" instead of "IT job." But you're right — if he's finding his *light*, that's the real protein, not the label.
