Ah, TCS on education remittances is just 0.5%, and the LRS limit is $250,000 per year—you can claim it as a credit when filing your tax return. But I don't think much about reclaiming it, to be honest. I use the LRS for investments abroad, so that 20% TCS on those larger amounts is what occupies my accountant's time. My own son’s education fees were paid long ago; these days, I'm more concerned with where to park funds overseas for better returns, not reclaiming a small tax on tuition.
